Thankyou so much for coming along tonight. If you have been before thanks for coming back. If its your first night here, WELCOME. It's because of you and the regular attendees we are able to make this happen. If no one came to these events there would be no DISTRACTD. As I always say. Dr Bayliss sheds light on the interconnectedness of ADHD with depression, anxiety, learning differences, sensory processing disorder, substance abuse, autism spectrum disorder, and more.

Amanda Gorman - Founder of DISTRACTD

Amanda Gorman is passionate about building an ADHD community where we can connect with like minded individuals , bring our Boss, Work mates, Friends, Tutor, Coach, Teacher, Parent, Sibling,Neighbour or anyone we we think will benefit from learning more about ADHD and of course for US ourselves to all learn more ourselves.









Sunelle Asmussen


Sunelle is a Clinical Social Worker and a BCIA-International Board-Certified Neurofeedback Practitioner and QEEG-Diplomat. Sunelle is registered with the Australian and USA Board of Biofeedback to provide neurofeedback mentoring. She is currently a member of the Australian Biofeedback Board. Sunelle has been working with Children and Families for the last 24 years and has practiced in South Africa, the UK and for the last 14 years in Australia. Sunelle is fluent in English and Afrikaans.

 

Sunelle is currently in private practice on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. Her location, the ‘Connections office’ is situated in the beautiful Hinterland, offering a unique, relaxed, non-clinical setting. Prior to starting private practice, Sunelle worked with Queensland Health for 10 years, providing a specialist Mental Health Service to Children and Families with a primary focus on trauma, attachment, grief and loss and development. Sunelle is a systemic therapist that values a holistic approach to wellbeing, collaborating with families and other professionals.

Sunelle completed an academic Masters in Gestalt Play Therapy, in addition, she has studied various Play Therapy modalities over the last 20 years. Sunelle is a Paediatric Massage Consultant that is currently registered with IMIS.

Sunelle has completed 50 hours off Trauma informed Kids Yoga Teacher training, recognised by Yoga Alliance Australia. Between 2017-2022. Sunelle has completed advanced certification in Anxiety and Panic Disorders, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Clinical Certification in ADHD and Mentalisation Based Therapy. Sunelle is also an EMDR, EFT practitioner.

Mark McConville


Australia’s only full-time professional comedian with a master’s degree in Suicidology.

Join professional comedian Mark McConville as he presents his Laughter Clinic Keynote Presentation. Mark is an accomplished Stand-Up Comedian, MC and Keynote Speaker and has been working in the Australian entertainment industry since 1998. In 2018 Mark graduated from Griffith University with a master’s degree in Suicidology, he subsequently was appointed as Adjunct Lecture at The Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention AISRAP, based at Griffith University.

Mark’s Laughter Clinic Keynote Presentation combines comedy and laughter with the latest information and research in the field of Suicidology to produce a fun, yet very powerful event. He also draws on over 15 years of lived experience battling and overcoming depression. What this means for your audience is that they will experience an engaging, interactive, and insightful presentation that has been meticulously crafted. Mark has the innate ability to ensure the right balance of humour and laughter with easy to remember mental health self-care strategies and take away messages.

Mark’s Laughter Clinic presentations and workshops are the perfect integration of academic knowledge with world class entertainment. This has meant that The Laughter Clinic repeatedly receives rave reviews from corporate clients and conference attendees.

In 2021 Mark was invited to present his Laughter Clinic Workshop at the 31st International Association for Suicide Prevention’s World Congress. The IASP World Congress is the primary global collaborative opportunity for expert thinking related to suicide and suicide prevention.

Additionally, The Laughter Clinic presentations can be easily customized to suit any client’s individual needs. Whether it be the inclusion of a conference theme, or a more specific session that focuses on Self-Care, Mark can tailor a presentation or workshop that will both entertain and educate your audience.

Mark is also a resident presenter in the ‘Triumph Over Trauma’ program which is run by the not-for-profit foundation ‘4 Aussie Heroes’. This program is made up of evidence-based sessions and activities, specifically for military and first responder personnel, past and present, who are suffering with PTSD and other related mental health issues.

As a comedian with a master’s degree in Suicidology Mark offers a unique perspective about mental health. Mark McConville the comedian and Mark McConville the Suicidologist are two very different entities, however, there is one overriding truth that connects them both, you can never underestimate the power of laughter.
